Overview

NB: The chart is actually longer than wide, the image format squeezes it into the defined space.

Based on the point locations found in Dr. So’s Book of Acupuncture Points, this highly useful full-color chart combines three separate views and many smaller illustrations on a single, large-format chart (23″ x 36″). The chart concentrates on channel point positions but includes the major extra points, with contraindications. Locations were personally supervised by Dr. So and thus reflect the experience of his teachers and the understanding acquired by teaching thousands of students. This simple and convenient chart provides a professional level of detail in an attractive and inexpensive format. It should be noted that the point locations and alpha-numeric point names on this chart reflect the Chinese teaching standards that were in place prior to China’s Cultural Revolution. To verify the Pinyin names for cross-reference purposes, students should look to Tin Yau So’s Book of Acupuncture Points.

When Japan invaded China, my church closed. At that time I learned acupuncture from Tsang Tien Chi. Shortly after, I opened my clinic. While practicing acupuncture, I always charged my patients very little. My treatments were available to the poor as well as to the rich. My business grew as my patients referred other patients. This made the patients happy and me happy. God, step by step, guided me to come and work in America in 1973.

There are a few points on Dr. So’s charts that disagree with standard TCM textbook locations. These are not an error (Dr. So thought the standard charts and books contained the errors)! These are the location he used in his clinical practice. We suggest following his locations while following his treatment advice.

Individual location difference have been part of acupuncture since the first recorded documents.

The chart is actually the usual horizonal format, the image gets “squeezed” by the format.
